Set against the background of colonial Australia and the rebellious Royal Marine Corps, The Traitors continues the saga of two pioneer families, the Talgarth and the Dawsons. Jenny Taggart, a young widow, is reunited with her old friend and lover, Andrew Hawley. Andrew is forced to serve the irascible Governor Bligh during his tumultuous disputes with John MacArthur and the Corps officers.
