The call is brief, but to the point. There has been a murder in the family of Lieutenant Decker’s half brother, Rabbi Jonathan Levine. His brother-in-law, Ephraim Lieberman, a Hasidic Jew and former drug addict, was found naked in a seedy Manhattan hotel, a single gunshot wound to his head.
