When marketing executive Tessa Mathieson leaves London to attend her great-aunt’s funeral in Australia her life is in turmoil. An indiscretion during a boozy night out means Tessa’s name is mud in London’s cliquey marketing scene, and when she arrives in her homeland she discovers she’s been sacked from her job.

Tessa’s childhood home, Danjar Plains, is an isolated station which holds sad memories for Tessa, so she can’t wait to escape it after the funeral. But an unusual request in her Aunt Violet’s will makes it difficult for Tessa to leave.
