Origami, a Japanese ord meaning paper-folding, is a fascinating art that has spread from Japan, where it has been popular for hundreds of years, to the West, where it is now a popular and absorbing hobby.
This book takes the beginner in paper folding from the very first, east steps, to the intricate methods used to produce, for instance, a folder paper model of a full masted sailing ship, or a kangaroo. There are detailed drawings that reveal, step-by-step, how to fold each model, and coloured illustrations of all the finished items.
Once the basic folds and methods are mastered, it is easy and fun to invent new model. Almost any aper can be used, and practice will produce models as perfect as those shown in the book.
