Every method in this book is accompanied by clear and details instructions for making templates and patterns, for construction, preparation, sewing and finishing as well as suggestions for application, planning and new design ideas.

Apart from sewing the patches together, which can be done either by hand or by machine, many patchworks are also quilted. Different methods of quilting are described as well, with patterns, diagrams and illustrations, together with associated techniques such as paddling and knotting or tufting.
