Cost of discipleship. Dietrich Bonhoeffer. 1990.

Regular price $7.00

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the now famous theologian who was hanged by the Nazis in 1945, wrote Cost of Discipleship in 1937, while he was head of a seminary of the Germany ‘Confessing Church’ at Finkenwalde near Stettin. Here many of the pastors who witnessed against Hitler received their inspiration.

Cost of Discipleship like Life Together which was written at the same time, shows clearly the nature of this inspiration. It is concentrated on the most treasured part of Christ’s teaching, the Sermon on the Mount with its call to discipleship, and on the grace of God and the sacrifice that it demands.
